Jasper County REMC is launching high-speed internet service; Connect: Internet by Jasper County REMC. We are looking for Wireless Tower Technicians for our Fixed Wireless products.
The Wireless Tower Technician will install and service residential and commercial fixed wireless solutions, as well as fiber-optic solutions. We are looking for motivated, responsible and dedicated individuals interested in working with and installing leading internet technologies. The position requires completing member installations, service visits, troubleshooting and maintaining access site infrastructure on towers up to 200ft. Previous wireless/satellite experience is a plus. (On the job training will be provided).

Job Type: Full-time
Perform fiber and wireless broadband service installations, disconnects and reconnects for residential and commercial dwellings or other facilities.
Climb and work on communications towers to install, replace, and repair wireless internet equipment
Identify, troubleshoot, and repair issues affecting wireless internet including channel interference, network problems, misalignments, and DC power.
Assist network design teams with RF channel planning and site surveys.
Perform all work as necessary to conform to quality, security and safety control guidelines and procedures.
Keep proper records of installed facilities, materials used, signal levels, and test results as applicable.
Clean, maintain, stock and secure assigned vehicle and equipment.
Complete work orders, service orders and communicate challenges to supervisor to ensure efficient scheduling and timely completion of work.
Perform other responsibilities and work duties as assigned
Education / Work Experience Required:
High School Degree (mandatory)
Preferred Experience / Skills:
Tower Climbing: 1 year (Preferred)
Microwave, cable, wireless network, or satellite installer experience
Roofing, electrical, tower climbing, construction and/or dish installation
Basic knowledge of RF design principles
Basic understanding of network fundamentals, network hardware and Wi-Fi networks

Physically fit and must be able to work at heights up to 200ft.
Lift up to 50lbs and meet the 300lb weight restrictions on ladders to comply with OSHA standards
Must be able to safely use ladders and be comfortable working on roofs and running cables to various parts of a building.
Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions every day.
Knowledge of residential building pathways and basic computer networking skills
Must be able to demonstrate attention to accuracy on all duties and responsibilities
Must be comfortable working in a high stress, fast paced environment with shifting priorities.
Member service oriented with passion for high member satisfaction and achieving operational excellence; ability to interact with all levels of staff, including senior management
Valid Driver’s License
Ability to pass a background check and random drug test. NO felony records
Ability to work fulltime, overtime, and additional hours as required
