The Fiber Construction Coordinator is responsible for planning, directing, and supervising activities required to construct, operate, and maintain the Fiber to the Home (FTTH) network for United Services. The Coordinator position requires excellent communication skills to work effectively with customers, members, city, and government officials in relation to the construction and maintenance of the United Fiber network.

Direct and coordinate construction, maintenance, and operations of the FTTH network.
Assist with cost estimates, staking of new lines, new services to be built, network upgrades, etc.
Plan construction and maintenance jobs.
Utilize mapping software, produce BOM’s, verify as-builts, and procure ROW easements.
Coordinate construction schedules, set deadlines, give work direction to contractors, resolve problems, and ensure timely completion of construction work.
Coordinate work with management and other departments, including Field Services, Network Operations, and Customer Services to insure the most efficient, effective, and economical use of all materials, equipment, and personnel.
Attend training and/or courses relating to area of work (overnight stays may be required). Daytime hours may fluctuate, and some evening and weekend hours may be required to support the business needs of United Services.
Learn and utilize automated equipment as required by United Services.
Provide efficient, courteous, and professional service to customers and the general public.

This position has no supervisory responsibility of personnel; coordinates and manages scheduling with outside contractor companies.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, and/or sit for prolonged periods of time; employee will work inside and outside in any kind of inclement weather at any time, navigating fields, creeks, rural timber, uneven ground, and/or ditches when surveying potential fiber builds; employee must be able to lift and carry 75 – 100 pounds.
This is a full-time position. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. This position will report to the Savannah office and is required to commute to all offices within our service territory (including Maryville, Grant City, Cameron, and Excelsior Springs) as well as travel throughout the service area. Standard days of work are Monday through Friday. This position must be able to work flexible hours outside normal business hours, including weekends, events, and holidays as required. This position is required to work in the event of an emergency or service outage, including evening shifts and weekends to support the business needs of United Services.
This position is required to travel as necessary for training and professional development opportunities, approximately 15-20% of time worked.

Required Education and Experience:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience: Five years of related experience in construction or project management or related field.
Skills: Must have excellent communication and strong computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office; have or acquire a thorough knowledge of first aid and CPR; must have and maintain a valid Missouri Class E driver’s license.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in related field
Experience: Six or more years of progressive experience in construction or project management, inventory management, and scheduling; supervisory experience preferred.
