The Broadband Installation Coordinator will demonstrate experience and skills in broadband member/subscriber installations in residential and commercial settings. The Broadband Installation Coordinator oversees technicians who represent United every day to our members/subscribers by extending fiber to homes and businesses, entering member/subscriber residences to install network interface devices (NIDs) and single-family unit/commercial unit Optical Network Terminals (ONT) with internet, telephone interfaces, supporting internet and voice services. Candidates for this position are well-versed in taking an analytical approach, providing data that will be used to inform on issues that impact the member service offering.This institution is an equal opportunity provider and employer.
Coordinates customer drop installations (exterior and interior) with outsourced vendors
For installs requiring detailed technical oversight, may be called upon to install, complete taps to terminals on member equipment in single and multiple unit dwellings, commercial buildings including pre-wired units
Oversees new connects, reconnects, requested and non-pay disconnects; adding of outlets; installs and/or removing converters; performing up/downgrades of service
Performs training on signal levels through use of field strength meter; adding and subtracting levels in installation problems; installing connectors on different types of drop cables; maintaining proper clearances; installing tap-off devices
Skilled at using connectors, fasteners, cable, wire and related hand tools
Uses customary CATV hand and power tools in performance of job duties.
Completes appropriate administrative functions as prescribed by broadband member services manager
Responsible for clean-up of areas post-installation
Develops and delivers appropriate ad-hoc training for membership area including new services and technology
Acts as an orchestrator and technical mentor, providing support and thought leadership within the Broadband Member Services team
Administers “Proactive Performance Coaching” principals in accordance with daily supervisory duties.
Adheres to and encourages current safety policies and procedures and is actively involved in continuously assessing safety policies to ensure their content and/or effectiveness are consistently the top priority at the cooperative.
Membership/Subscribers: Professionally answer inquiries and/or directs them to the appropriate person, making every effort to increase their understanding and acceptance of the Cooperative's plans, policies and programs
Provides direction to installation contractors
Is involved in Statewide and National programs
Job Knowledge, Training and Experience: At least 5 years of experience in the field. 5 years of experience in customer-facing role, working with third-party installation vendors. Must acquire within a reasonable time span knowledge of appropriate cooperative safety rules and regulations, policies and procedures pertaining to their respective job assignments.
Equipment Operated: Must be ableto operate personal computers and related software. Must be able to use office equipment and telecommunications equipment. Must have a current Texas driver’s license without violations that would prohibit insurability.
Abilities and Skills: Experience with directing the activities of multiple Fiber-To-The-Home (FTTH) team members or telecommunications management, telecom or data wiring. FTTH networks, both aerial and underground is highly preferred. The ability to assess different installation scenarios, and effectively determine required time, approach and equipment, will be required. Lifts and carries loads up to 75lbs (including ladders).

Working Conditions: Requires working indoors and outdoors with some irregular hours. Some travel is required inside and outside the cooperative service area.
