The Executive Director of Trailwave Fiber, Inc., a subsidiary of Habersham EMC, is the leader in directing all activities of broadband and fiber services of the cooperative. This position develops business objectives and operating procedures for the organization to ensure financial and utility operations soundness, while providing optimum service to customers.

The following are the essential duties of this position and do not include marginal functions that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of HABERSHAM EMC or Trailwave Fiber, Inc.
Directs the activities of the broadband and fiber services of the cooperative, establishing sound business objectives, financial and operating procedures, while providing optimum service to customers.
Implements and operates the Trailwave Fiber broadband network, including fiber optic and fixed wireless network within the financial projections and budget approved by the board of directors.
Leads the expansion of Trailwave broadband service to area residential and commercial customers. Plans and prioritizes the extension of services to meet availability needs and subscriber satisfaction.
Ensures the objectives and policies established by the Board and leadership team are implemented in compliance with applicable laws, bylaws, and achieve the desired results within the resources available.
Oversees the marketing communication of service programs, availability, and information to members, consumers, and the public through the various communication channels and mass media.
Evaluates new business development opportunities and recommends expansion of services to the executive leadership team.
Researches new and emerging technologies to further goals of the organization.
Actively participates in and represents the organization with regulatory agencies, legislative bodies, and industry associations.
Supports the mission, core values, and vision of Habersham EMC in carrying out the responsibilities of the position for this subsidiary. Promotes and maintains a safe working environment, observes all safety rules and assures working conditions conducive to high employee morale.
As a member of the leadership team, this position is responsible for a full range of personnel management activities, including but not limited to the selection, training and evaluation of employee performance, developing and monitoring completion of objectives, and the completion of special projects.
Obtains assistance from consultants and contractors as needed to ensure the success of the broadband network deployment and ongoing operations.
Maintains positive and productive relations with vendors, contractors, subscribers, customers, and the general public in carrying out the responsibilities of the position.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as required to meet the needs of the organization and our members.

Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Engineering, or an equivalent.
Requires leadership or demonstrated, progressive experience in broadband installation and services to residential and commercial customers.

Strong understanding of the Broadband Services and Electric Cooperative Industry, regulations, requirements, and codes.
Proven success in developing new business opportunities and sales.
